White Woman's Instagram

This is one of those occasions where something new prompts the digging out of something old. Have you listened to Bo Burnham's Inside yet? If not, why not? There is much to appreciate. Anyhoo, White Woman's Instagram (I'd recommend listening first, before watching the video, the pictures in your head will be the first source of joy) absolutely nails a certain, mildly nauseating but instantly recognisable aesthetic. My first reaction was 'oh, god, I have a strong urge to recreate each one of these images in homage to the song'. I may still do this. But then I remembered the last time I was seized by a similar compulsion.

Back in 2020 (remember then?), inspired by the awful and thankfully unmonetisable Lee Hardliwell, some hugely cathartic fun was had. It's not big and it's not clever, kids, but it's time to share. Behold, the perfect storm of external provocation + too much time on my hands + a paid subscription to Canva.

Unrelated, other than through synaptic leaps, here's an accompanying soundtrack.

... ends.
